This was the surprise visitor at Shillingstone over the weekend. It can be glimpsed in each of Dave Clark's pictures - it was of course the Dukedog en route to the Bluebell Railway.
i doubt they will ever see a 7f there. not enough volunteers with the savvy to make it a viable concern and too much nimby and cyclepath lovers interferance at the slightest noble suggestion of undoing the beeching era wrongs
LOL! Nimbys will vanish like poisoned weeds once they realise they can't afford to run their cars any more. They'll be bellowing for the return of THEIR railway. And the New S&D may be first and foremost a modern sustainable transport system but there's too much history within the S&D fraternity/soriety to put the brakes on running heritage specials as well. There will be a 7F running there sooner than most of us dare hope! Perhaps even pulling a paying freight train ...
Great pictures but the wrong company.
ReplyDeletePity it wasn't a 7F!
A 7F will be along soon enough! And if it's good enough for the LBSCR it's good enough for the S&D!
ReplyDeleteRivalries run long and deep!!!but it is time to put all that behind us,I agree.
