As promised a few shots from yesterday's epic avalanche-threatened journey across Switzerland. These are all from Landquart on the metre-gauge Rhatische Bahn.
Wires and Masts running through mountainous countryside..just reminds me of the Woodhead route. Double tracked, electric main line built to high loading gauge between two major areas (Manchester-Sheffield)..killed off by Mrs Thatchers BR accountants..even Beeching praised the route modernised in the 1950s as the future of British railways.
