A great shot taken yesterday (2 February 2010) looking up to the station at Midsomer Norton. There is a real S&D feel here now and it's sometimes all too easy to forget just how much work has gone into getting MN back on the map. Fifteen years ago this was buried under tons of soil, right up to the underside of the loading gauge. The track between the platforms was filled up to platform level. The signalbox was a hole in the ground. The site hadn't seen track for thirty years.
MN is an inspiration to the New S&D and I for one can't wait to run the first New S&D train through this station!

Steve, can you re-post the photo... it isn't showing up on the live blog.
It's looking very exciting!
