The Viewing Platform at Midsomer Norton
Obviously not present in the line's heyday, volunteers recently undertook the task of building a viewing platform at the end of the up platform. This gives an excellent view over the station and also provides a prime vantage point for watching diesel and steam specials, works trains and the track gang skiving. To the forefront in the down platform line is 'Derrick', the incredibly useful Road-Railer, which has made tracklaying about a hundred times easier than it was in the old days (before 2005) when all tracklaying was by hand.
